Colin Murray is to quit radio station talkSPORT.
The presenter from Northern Ireland announced his resignation from the sports station citing the station’s takeover by News Corp as his reason to leave.
Murray said: “The inevitable future working partnership with talkSport and The Sun has made my position unsustainable.”
Rupert Murdoch’s NewsCorp, which owns The Sun among other publications, purchased the Wireless Group which previously oversaw the station.
The Sun has been the subject of a boycott by many Liverpool fans due to the way Hillsborough was covered at the time by the tabloid.
The broadcaster signed off with #JFT96 in reference to the 96 Liverpool fans who lost their lives in the tragedy.
Murray took to Twitter to make the announcement.
