A Laois family made the short trip to Dublin today to collect €500,000 from Lotto HQ.

The family, who wish for their win to remain private, bought their winning Lotto Plus 1 advance play ticket on June 20 in Tesco Extra on James Fintan Lalor Avenue in Portlaoise, Co Laois.

They said that they are planning a quiet family gathering to celebrate their win before deciding on how they will spend their fortune.

Tonight’s jackpot is an estimated €4.5m.
