Revenue officers have seized 65,772 litres of beer from three trucks at Dublin Port, it has been revealed.
The beer was discovered and detained when, following routine profiling, officers stopped and searched three German registered trucks as they disembarked a ferry from Zeebrugge last Saturday.
Further enquiries confirmed that the alcohol was undeclared.
The seized beer is valued at €193,150 and represents a potential loss to the Exchequer of €134,175.
