The future of the suicide and bereavement charity Console will be discussed today.

Board members are expected to decide whether the charity should be wound down, after the former CEO Paul Kelly left its finances in turmoil.

Mr Kelly, and his immediate family, are accused of spending vast amounts of Console’s money on designer clothes and foreign holidays.

The charity has been in crisis since the revelations became public several weeks ago.

However the HSE said that it is putting a contingency plan in place that could see Console’s services transferred to another aid agency.
