Cigarettes and tobacco have been seized in Cork city.

8,000 cigarettes and 26.5 kilos of roll your own tobacco were discovered at a house on the north side of the city.

Revenue’s detector dog Harvey was involved in the operation.

The cigarettes and tobacco had a retail value of almost €17,000 and represent a loss to the exchequer of €13,000.

A man in his 50s is helping Gardai with their inquiries.
