Rory McIlroy is among the leaders on four under after eight holes on day one of the Open championship in Royal Troon.
Patrick Reed and Soomin Lee are also four under.
Padraig Harrington is one over after 13, Shane Lowry is two over after 10 and Paul Dunne is level par after 12.
Scot Colin Montgomerie said he was nervous ahead of hitting the opening shot at the Open golf this morning – before scoring a first round 71.
The veteran Scot started with a double bogey on his childhood course.
He then managed five birdies in seven holes to briefly put him in the lead.
Montgomerie said afterwards that it was a fantastic experience.
“It was great,” he told Sky Sports. “There was more people out there than I imagined to start with.
“It was fantastic for them all to give me such support on the first tee, it was great.”
