Shamrock Rovers came from a goal down to beat 10-man Bohemians 3-1 in an incident-filled Dublin derby at the Tallaght Stadium.

After Rovers missed an early penalty, when Dean Delany saved from Brandon Miele inside the opening three minutes, Bohs were reduced to 10 men in the 20th minute when Keith Buckley was shown a straight red card.

However, the visitors took the lead shortly afterwards when Kurtis Byrne’s lobbed shot went-in off the post.

But the Hoops gradually started to make their numerical advantage count and goals from Dean Clarke and Gary Shaw in the space of just four minutes helped them take the lead at the break.

Substitute Sean Boyd made sure of the points in the 70th minute.

In tonight’s other game in the top-flight, Derry City thrashed 10-man Longford Town 4-0.

Aaron McEneff, Lukas Schubert, Barry McNamee and Rory Patterson got the goals at the Brandywell.

In the First Division, UCD remain in second place after a 2-1 win over Waterford United in Belfield while Drogheda United were 1-0 winners over Athlone Town.
