The Former Interim CEO of Console has said that it is important that the crucial services run by the charity continue.

On Thursday a provisional liquidator was appointed to the suicide charity and its services were taken over by Pieta House.

Around 12 staff members have also been made redundant.

Meanwhile, yesterday the HSE insisted no public funds were misspent by the organisation when its Director General Tony O’Brien appeared at the PAC.

David Hall (pictured) has said that a trusted service will be available from staff at Pieta House: “Yeah it is important to thrash out exactly what has happened over the last number of years it seems.

“The most important thing is that the services from Console are protected.

“They are now in the safe custody of Pieta House.

“The services, if they are wanted by people, are available to continue using them or indeed if people have never used them before they are there, free of charge to use if they need them.”
