A man arrested near Jose Mourinho’s London home has been jailed for attempted burglary.
Pictures published in The Sun newspaper appear to show the Manchester United manager looking out of a window at police officers who are standing next to a man in a baseball cap.
Gabor Roman, 25, of no fixed address, was sentenced to four weeks in prison when he pleaded guilty to attempted burglary after his arrest in an upmarket area of the English capital where houses cost millions of pounds.
The Metropolitan Police said Roman was arrested on Sunday July 10 and pleaded guilty to the offence two days later at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
On the day of the arrest Andy Murray won Wimbledon and Mourinho’s home country of Portugal beat France to become Euro 2016 champions.
Mourinho was pictured at the Wimbledon final and he posted a picture on Instagram writing: “Well done Andy congrats”.
On the same day, he also uploaded a photograph of himself wearing what appeared to be pyjamas and holding a Portugal scarf, with the caption: “If you want to visit the country of the European champions visit PORTUGAL.”
Mourinho succeeded Louis van Gaal as Manchester United boss in May.
