Arsenal Ladies captain Alex Scott had a day to forget yesterday, managing to put the ball in her own net from well outside the box.
The right-back, who also plays for England, made the blunder during a Women’s Super League game against Chelsea.
Eight minutes into the game, with the score at 0-0, Scott chanced a backpass from 40 yards out that caught Arsenal’s goalkeeper, Sari van Veenendaal, off guard.

Van Veenendaal looked deeply unimpressed as she picked the ball out of the net but, luckily for Scott, their side went on to win the match 2-1.
