A repeat of the 2013 final between Midleton and Sarsfields is the stand-out tie in Round 4 of the Cork county SHC after the draws for Rounds 3 and 4 were made in Páirc Uí Rinn last night.

Having lost to reigning champions Glen Rovers on Sunday in their Round 2A replay – itself a reprise of the finals of 2010, ’14 and ’15 – Sars were sent to Round 3 but were the lucky side to receive a bye to Round 4.

In Round 3, there is a North Cork derby between Ballyhea and Newtownshandrum while Na Piarsaigh will meet Ballymartle, who beat them in a 2012 quarter-final. The other definite ties are between Carrigdhoun and St Finbarr’s – both sides have beaten Newcestown – and CIT and Avondhu.

The quarter-final draw will take place at a later date, with Glen Rovers, Bride Rovers and Blackrock having received byes to the last eight.

Round 3: (a) Na Piarsaigh v Ballymartle, (b) Carrigdhoun v St Finbarr’s, (c) Killeagh v losers Douglas/Imokilly, (d) Ballyhea v Newtownshandrum, (e) CIT v Avondhu, (f) winners Youghal/Bishopstown v Duhallow.

Round 4: Sarsfields v Midleton, CIT/Avondhu v winners Douglas/Imokilly, Erin’s Own v (c), (b) v (a), (d) v (f); byes to quarter-finals: Glen Rovers, Bride Rovers, Blackrock.
