Two men have died in separate road accidents in Co Meath and Co Kildare last night.
A 42-year-old man died after the car he was driving was in a head-on collision with another car in Co Meath last night.
The crash happened on the R157 (Dunboyne to Maynooth Road) at Castlefarm near Dunboyne at around 8.50pm last night.
The man was seriously injured in the collision and was taken by ambulance to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where he was later pronounced dead.
He was alone in his car, but the driver of the other car had four passengers and they were all taken to hospital.
Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The road has been closed and diversions are in place as Gardaí examine the scene this morning. The local coroner has been notified.

In Co Kildare, a man in his 20s was killed when the car he was driving collided with a truck at 11.30pm last night.
The collision happened on the R407 (Clane to Kilcock Rd) near Baltracey, where the was pronounced dead before his body removed to Naas Hospital.
The driver of the truck was taken to Blanchardstown Hospital with what are described as “minor injuries”.
The road has been closed for a Garda forensic investigation and diversions are in place.
