Clare’s Tony Kelly and Limerick’s Ronan Lynch have traded in their hurleys and sliotars for a set of clubs and a few golf balls.

The hurlers were helping to launch the UL GAA Golf Classic and took the opportunity to have a quick par three challenge at Limerick Golf Club.

Before their tee-time, Lynch was full of confidence claiming to play with a similar style to a young Tiger Woods, while Kelly was a bit more cautious saying, “I’d kind of compare myself to a bit of John Daly – I’m only out for the craic really.”

And how did the competition fare? A draw – but it wasn’t without its controversy.

A solid effort lads, but maybe stick to the hurling.
