There has been a confirmed case of measles in Galway.

A person traveled from another European country into Dublin on July 18, while being infectious. They then travelled to Galway.

The airline involved has been contacted and all passengers on the flight have been notified.

The case is unrelated to the recent outbreak where 34 cases were confirmed between April and July.

People who have not been fully vaccinated with two doses of MMR are at risk, along with babies under the age of 12 months and those with weakened immune systems.
