Derry City have missed-out on a chance to move level on points with Cork City in the Airtricity League Premier Division.

The Candystripes were held to a scoreless draw by Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds.

Elsewhere, Bray Wanderers and Shamrock Rovers played-out a 1-1 draw at the Carlisle Grounds, as a Gary McCabe penalty cancelled out Dylan Connolly’s opener for Bray.

Meanwhile Wexford Youths beat hosts Finn Harps by an Aidan Keenan goal to nil.

In the First Division, leaders Limerick FC remain unbeaten this season after a comfortable 2-0 win over Shelbourne at the Markets Field.

Cobh Ramblers came from 2-0 down to claim a 2-2 draw against their hosts, Waterford United, at the RSC, while Drogheda United beat Cabinteely 1-0 and UCD were 5-1 winners over Athlone Town.
