People are now twice as likely to live for at least 10 years after being diagnosed with cancer than they were in the 70s.

Macmillan Cancer Support claims half of those diagnosed with cancer now live for at least another decade.

It’s called it “extraordinary”.

Jagtar Dhanda, from the charity, has said treatment is much more advanced now: “There’s been massive investment in screening programs, in diagnostics, so you know, how GPs can diagnose cancer in much more earlier stage.

“All those factors are really contributing more to people living with cancer.”
