Dundalk is in full-on party mode tonight after a resounding 3-0 thumping of BATE Borisov in their Champions League Qualifier tonight.

Despite being a goal down after the first leg in Belarus, the League of Ireland champions produced one of the most memorable nights for Irish club football to keep their European dream alive.

Cue delirious celebrations from players and fans alike – and who could blame them?

This commentator on Dundalk FM certainly didn’t hold back.

The significance of the result, both sporting and financial, certainly wasn’t lost on people.

And it wasn’t just Dundalk fans celebrating, as the result was seen as a victory for the League of Ireland in general against the nay-sayers.

Friday’s play-off draw could see Dundalk face the likes of Man City, FC Porto, Villarreal and AS Roma, and many fans can’t wait to see what happens next.
