Update 2.20pm: Two men in their 30s have been arrested and a third suspect remains at large after an armed raid on a Co Kerry post office.
What is believed to be a substantial amount of cash was stolen from the post office in Waterville Co Kerry in the raid.
The suspects reportedly fled in a car in the direction of Cahersiveen/Killarney. The car was later found crashed in the Beaufort area of Killarney, before which it reportedly rammed a garda car, injuring two gardaí. They are shaken, but their injuries are understood to not be serious.
The suspected offenders took to the fields on foot.
Two men were later arrested in the Beaufort area and are detained at Killarney and Tralee Garda stations under Section 30 of The Offences Against the State Act, 1939.
A search is now underway for the remaining suspect. The search is being aided by the Garda Armed Support Unit and the Dog Unit.
Shots were discharged by gardaí during the course of the incident. No injuries have been reported.
The incident has been referred to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission, as is normal in situations where it appears that conduct of a member of the Garda Síochána may have resulted in death or serious harm. The Garda Ombudsman has confirmed that it will examine the matter to establish the facts.

Update 1pm: It is now believed the suspects are on foot in the Kilgobnet area and possibly armed.
Gardaí cannot confirm whether there are two or three men currently on the run at this time.

Earlier: There are unconfirmed reports of shots being fired at an armed robbery that occurred this morning at Waterville Post Office.
The incident took place at 11.50am this morning.
Media reports state there were no injuries from the robbery.
Radio Kerry reports that Killarney gardaí are on the lookout for a navy Mazda car and there are other reports that a Garda helicopter is also searching the area.
