Unions representing drivers at Dublin Bus are to ballot their members on strike action in an ongoing dispute over pay.

SIPTU and the NBRU have said industrial action is becoming increasingly likely after their members overwhelmingly rejected a Labour Court recommendation on pay and conditions.

Workers had sought increases of up to 31% to bring them in-line with Luas drivers and to reflect the fact that they have not had a pay increase since 2008.

The ballots will take place this week and next week.
