The draws for the Olympic boxing Draw at Rio is taking place this afternoon.
Both Paddy Barnes and Katie Taylor will get a bye into the quarter-finals at the Rio Olympic games.
The reigning champion Taylor will fight either a Brazilian or Finnish boxer and a win in that fight will earn the Bray native a medal.
Meanwhile, Barnes’ first fight will be against an Armenian or Spanish boxer in the light flyweight category.
Michael Conlan and Michael O’Reilly have been seeded into the second round while Brendan Irvine has three fights ahead of him before booking a place in the semi-final.

David Oliver Joyce will have his first fight on August 6th with Steven Donnelly facing an Algerian opponent in his first fight this coming Sunday.
