Dublin have been handed a huge boost as Jason McCarthy has be cleared to play in tomorrow’s All-Ireland quarter-final against Donegal at Croke Park (6pm), writes Shaun Cronin.

The three-time All-Ireland winner is the only change from Dublin’s facile Leinster Championship final 2-19 to 0-10 victory over Westmeath in mid-July.

McCarthy is named in the half-back line in place of Eric Lowndes of St. Peregrines after recovering from a troublesome quad injury.

Jim Gavin’s men will be looking for revenge for their 2014 All-Ireland semi-final loss to tomorrow’s opponents Donegal, their last Championship defeat.

Dublin team to face Donegal in full:

Stephen Cluxton (Parnells – captain); Philip McMahon (Ballymun Kickhams), John Cooper (Na Fianna), David Byrne (Naomh Olaf); James McCarthy (Ballymun Kickhams), Cian O’Sullivan (Kilmacud Crokes), John Small (Ballymun Kickhams); Brian Fenton (Raheny), Michael Darragh MacAuley (Ballyboden St Enda’s); Paul Flynn (Fingallians), Kevin McManamon (St Jude’s), Ciaran Kilkenny (Castleknock); Dean Rock (Ballymun Kickhams), Diarmuid Connolly (St Vincent’s), Bernard Brogan (St. Oliver Plunkett’s-Eoghan Ruadh)
