Bus drivers and Luas staff say they are racially abused on a daily basis, as they call for an end to racism.

Ads will go on display across the public transport network this month, urging the public to report racist incidents.

One in five such incidents takes place on public transport, with 240 reported to the Immigrant Council last year – an increase of 11%.

A driver with Dublin Bus for 14 years, Shahbaz Rana says it is a daily occurrence.

“As a professional bus driver we deal with those issues all the time.”
