Our British neighbours secured a bronze medal in the 10m synchronised diving competition in Rio last night thanks to the pair of Tom Daley and Dan Goodfellow, writes Douglas Imrie.

Yet, British media outlets seem to have forgotten that this was a two-man effort with their attention solely focused on poster-boy Tom Daley.

The failure to include Dan Goodfellow, who has been referred to as ‘synchro partner’ and excluded from cover photos, has prompted the ire of many on social media, including his mother.

The medal was somewhat of a surprise for the pair who only began training together last October, after Daley stated he would only compete if he found a partner with whom he’d have a chance to medal.

In the end, it came down to the final dive, with Daley and Goodfellow narrowly securing third place ahead of the German pair.
