A family from Co. Tipperary have collected their winnings from Saturday’s Lotto Plus 2 draw.
They travelled to the National Lottery headquarters in Dublin to collect a cheque for €250,000 after hitting the Lotto Plus 2 jackpot.
The man from Cahir, Co. Tipperary who wishes to remain anonymous, bought his winning ticket on the day of the draw at the Spar on Church Street in Cahir.
The Tipperary native told how his nerves got the better of him when he witnessed his numbers being drawn on Saturday night.
He said: “I saw four of my numbers, one after another come out of the draw. Before I saw the final numbers come out, I switched off the TV so I was unsure of what I had won.
“I knew at least I had won the Match 4 prize and when I told my family what had happened, they told me to get down to the local shop and check them straight away.
“It was a special feeling when I knew I had all six but I still had to convince my family who couldn’t believe it.”
The lottery winner discussed his plans for his €250,000 jackpot win which he plans to share with his family.
He said: “While my name may be on the winning ticket, this is a win for all of us.
“I am very lucky to have such a close and loving family. The money will be divided up for us all and I will let them make their own decisions on how to spend it.
“We are already a very happy family but this win definitely give us more reasons to smile this week.”
