Emergency services battled overnight to get a fire under control at a building site in Glanmire, Co. Cork, according to The Evening Echo.
Units from Midleton and Cork city responded to a call, which came in at 8.12pm last night.
Witnesses reported smoke and flames billowing out from an unused building at a building site near the recently opened Lidl supermarket in Glanmire.
The L3010 road was closed as the units tackled the fire.
The supermarket was evacuated as a precaution, though there are no reports of anyone being hurt in the incident.
Members of the Midleton fire service remained on site to tackle the blaze until just before 7am today.
Their colleagues from Cork city left shortly before that time.
