The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission has begun an inquiry after reports that a number of off-duty Gardai were involved in a ‘public order’ incident with revellers at Dublin’s Temple Bar at the weekend.

Up to five men were involved in the altercation on Fleet Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.

There are reports that bottles were thrown and broken during the clash which happened around half past one.

GSOC is requesting anyone who witnessed the incident to contact it on 1890 600 800.
