Cork brothers Gary and Paul O’Donovan have captured the hearts of the nation with not only their exploits in the Olympic rowing competition, but also their devil-may-care approach to interviews, writes Shaun Cronin.
Gary and Paul were the talk of the country on Monday after they won their Lightweight Double Scull heat because of the pair’s cheeky interview with RTÉ after the race.
It was a great day for the brothers from Skibbereen today as they managed to qualify for tomorrow’s Olympic final.
The O’Donovans also managed to pip Great Britain into fourth place and eliminate them from the final round, a fact they took great pride in.
Of course the inevitable RTÉ interview followed and the guys were on top form yet again.

Hopefully they will be interviewed tomorrow again with Olympic medals around their necks.
