A man in his 40s has died after being hit by a car on the Slane Road in Drogheda, Co Louth last night.

The pedestrian died after being hit by an SUV on the N51 at 10.20pm.

The road remains closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
