It’s going to be a very busy day for the Irish in Rio, with our team involved in seven different sports. Action gets underway before noon today – here’s when you need to be in front of your tv.

Golf

The new Olympic sport caused major controversy before the team even left for Rio, but today the action finally gets underway out on the course.

Three-time major winner Padraig Harrington tees off at 11.41am, out in the second group. Waterford’s Seamus Power is the other Irishman in this week’s field and he admits that he’ll probably feel a little nervous when he steps up onto the first tee-box at 2.47pm.

Rowing

Ireland’s two Lightweight Double Sculls crews will be back to contest their semi-finals – weather permitting.

Sinead Lynch & Claire Lambe will be first onto the water at 12.50pm.

And they’ll be followed minutes later by the O’Donovan brothers, Paul & Gary in their semi-final.

Badminton

Donegal’s Chloe Magee, in her third Olympics, has a tough opening group game against China’s Yihan Wang when she starts her campaign in the Women’s Badminton singles at 1pm..

Dressage

Judy Reynolds horse Vancouver K will finally begin their Olympics in the Individual Dressage, which resumes at 2 this afternoon.

Hockey

In Hockey, it’s win-or-bust for Team Ireland as they face Canada in their penultimate match in Pool B at 3pm.

After three straight defeats, Craig Fulton’s men have to win today and in their final match against Argentina to have any hope of reaching the quarter-finals.

The Irish hockey team had to sing the national anthem without music… and it was fine?

Boxing

After a win on Sunday, Steven Donnelly returns to the ring when he faces a Mongolian opponent in the Welterweight Preliminaries just before 5pm.

Swimming

This evening Shane Ryan returns to the pool for the Heats of the Men’s 50m Freestyle, his final event of four in Rio.
