Five young offenders who escaped from a detention centre in Dublin are back in custody this morning.

The teenagers broke out of the Oberstown detention centre yesterday evening.

Gardaí launched a search operation to find the youths that involved the air support unit and the dog unit.

The group was apprehended nearby at about 10pm last night.

They have since been returned to the detention centre.
