Social media is reeling from the news that Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI)president Pat Hickey has been arrested and some of Ireland’s sporting stars are also getting involved in the online conversation.
Boxer Paddy Barnes has made two references to the story on Twitter this morning, jokingly worrying whether the scandal would affect his own plans.
Hopefully this ticket scandal doesn't include our flight tickets home!

And it looked suspiciously like Rory McIlroy was also keeping a close eye on the news. He tweeted, and then rapidly deleted, one word ‘karma’.
McIlroy made a late decision not to participate in the Games and at the time the OCI said they were “extremely disappointed not to be taking Rory with us to Rio”.
Was his tweet also aimed at Hickey?
