Crystal Palace’s record signing Christian Benteke may not have endeared himself to his new employers after appearing confused as to which club he has joined.
The Belgium striker completed his move to the Eagles from Liverpool on Saturday for an initial £27m, but mistakenly announced on Twitter that he had joined Burnley, spelling their name wrong for good measure.
His updated Twitter profile featured pictures of himself in a Palace shirt but the bio read: “Burnleyl FC and Belgium national team”. His location remained as Liverpool.
The 25-year-old then changed the club to CPFC, but not before the error was mocked by several of his 350,000 followers.
So Christian Benteke thought he signed for Burnley and can't even write it properly lol 😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/oZhDKYayZf

Benteke added an apology, tweeting: “Oops my bad lol Yes I signed for cpfc and not burnley. Sorry for the little mistake the person that manages my Twitter got a little confused”
