Update 4.31pm: The woman who died while cycling over one of Ireland’s highest mountain passes is understood to be a tourist from Germany.
The woman, aged in her 30s, was travelling with her boyfriend at the time.
Weather conditions were said to be poor and she was descending the pass at around 10:40am today when her bike “left the road and hit a ditch”, investigating gardaí said.
The 456 metre (1,496 feet) high Conor Pass links Dingle town on the south coast of the peninsula with settlements along the north.
It is considered one of the most famous and difficult climbs for cyclists in Ireland.

A female cyclist has died in a road accident in Co Kerry this morning.
The collision happened at around 10.40am this morning on the Conor Pass (Dingle to Tralee Road).
The bicycle that the woman was cycling left the road and hit a ditch.
The woman, aged in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body has been removed to University Hospital Tralee and the road has since reopened.
