Almost 260 people are waiting on a bed at hospitals across the country.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation claims 200 people are on trolleys while a further 58 are in overflow areas of wards.
According to the latest trolley watch report, University Hospital Limerick is the most overcrowded with 32 people in need of a bed.
South Tipperary General Hospital is next with 23 people on trolleys and overflow areas of wards, while the Mercy Hospital in Cork has 19.
