A teenage boy is in hospital after a road accident in Co Louth.

The 13-year-old boy was riding a bicycle when he was involved in a collision with a car at around 8.30pm last night on the N51, Slane Road in Drogheda.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda with serious injuries, while the car driver was unhurt.

GardaĆ­ have preserved the scene, and part of the N51 Slane Road is sealed off for a forensic investigation. Road diversions are in place.
