Thamesmead Town took on Guernsey FC in the preliminary round of the FA cup at the weekend and had a helping hand from the weather for one of their goals.

A poor shot that looked certain to go behind was buffeted back by the wind, and Thamesmead player Jack Mahoney took full advantage and scored.

The club’s Twitter account had mentioned the blustery conditions before the match but couldn’t have foreseen it giving them a helping hand.

The game ended 2-2, with a replay scheduled for Tuesday.
