Nurses say University Hospital Limerick is the most overcrowded in the country today.

According to the INMO’s latest Trolley Watch statistics, the facility has 35 people waiting for a bed.

Cork University Hospital is the second most under-pressure facility today with 26 people recorded, followed closely by University Hospital Galway and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, both of which have 24 people waiting.

According to the figures, there are 257 people on trolleys in Emergency Departments and overflow areas of wards today.
