Northern Ireland’s Deputy First Minister insists he is ready to answer questions about his past – if new truth and justice structures are put in place in the North.
Sinn Féin’s Martin McGuinness said that he backs a historical investigations team and a truth recovery process to help reconciliation in the North.
He wants the British government to open its files on The Troubles also – and says he is prepared to appear before tribunals which are investigating the past.
“If, in any circumstance, any of that has a connection with myself in relation to people levelling allegations or whatever, then I will deal with that, that’s not a difficulty for me whatsoever,” he said.
