Hundreds of rescue workers are patrolling the Donegal Coast this morning as the search continues for a young man missing off Bundoran.
28-year-old Gavin Carey – a member of the Defence Forces – got into difficulty while swimming with other soldiers off Tullan Strand, on Tuesday evening.
Commandant Pat O’Connor of the Defence Forces Press Office says a massive search operation will continue this morning and across the weekend.
“The search continues this morning for Corporal Gavin Carey.
“Over 100 members of his defence forces colleagues, both permanent and reserve, army, air core and naval service, are taking part in the search in the Bundoran area of Donegal this morning.
“They are also being aided by members of the Coast guard, the RNLI, An Garda Siochana, Civil Defence and also the Donegal Mountain Rescue.”
