The League of Ireland title race has been given some fresh momentum after wins tonight for both Cork City and Derry City.
Cork have now moved to within a point of Dundalk at the top of the table after a commanding 4-0 win over Bray Wanderers at Turners Cross.
Goals from Gearoid Morrissey, Gavan Holohan, Kenny Browne and Sean Maguire helped the Leesiders to increase the pressure on the league leaders, who have played one game less.
Derry have kept themselves in the title hunt and have also damaged the hopes of Shamrock Rovers after the Candystripes battled their way to a 1-0 win over Rovers at the Tallaght Stadium.
Rory Patterson’s first-half goal was enough for Derry to move to within two points of the summit.
