There’s still time for students to find accommodation for the coming academic year.
That’s the message from The Union of Students in Ireland, who is launching the 2016 Finance and Accommodation Guide today.
As well as practical tips and advice on renting, the guide also includes a rent book and and inventory checklist.
Students are also being reminded to consider all their rental options, such as sharing with friends or renting digs.
USI President Annie Hoey has this advice for anyone finding it difficult to get accommodation: “We’re encouraging students to consider digs as a viable option.
“You can go onto homes.usi.ie which is a digs listing website, contact the students union and ask to be put onto their Facebook group and just keep looking around and don’t panic or rush into anything because those who want to target students or unscrupulous landlords, when you panic that is when they strike.”
