Update 9.50am: Drivers at Dublin Bus are set to go on six days strike in September.

The strike action will take place on September 8,9,15,16,23 and 24.

Five unions representing 3,200 have handed in notice of industrial action to the state run company this morning.

A dispute over pay has been ongoing for several months at the company – workers have rejected a Labour Court recommendation of a 8.2% pay rise.

Drivers are calling for pay parity with Luas workers.

It is understood the industrial action will include a number of 48 hour work stoppages.

Earlier: Dublin Bus drivers are expected to announce six days of strike action later today.

The five trade unions representing 3,200 staff are due to serve notice on the state run company amid a long running row over pay.

It comes after workers rejected a Labour Court recommendation of pay increases of 8.2% over three years.

Drivers say they want pay parity with Luas workers – who negotiated increases of approximately 18% earlier this year.
