Wearable technology company Fitbit is opening its new European Middle East and Africa headquarters in Dublin today.

The new office will employ 50 people by the end of this year and up to 100 by the end of next year. The Dublin base will drive business for the wearable technology firm across the region.

Fitbit opened in Dublin two years ago.

The fitness and health tracker company has seen substantial growth of 150% across Europe in the second quarter of this year.

The company said they wanted to take advantage of Dublin’s highly skilled workforce.

Fitbit’s new European managing director Des Power said: “The new two-floor office will support the incredible growth Fitbit has seen in the region.”
