Corrie fans’ minds were boggled last night when they spotted Liz McDonald kicking back in front of Loose Women – shown on the same channel as the ITV soap.

But here’s where we really fall down the rabbit hole… Beverley Callard, who plays Liz, is actually a Loose Women panellist in real life. That’s right. Coronation Street is totally messing with our minds.
And as if to underline her Loose Woman status, Liz was enjoying a nice glass of red while she caught up with her favourite show. Nothing wrong with that you say. Except, hang on… Loose Women airs at 12.30pm on weekdays. Elizabeth McDonald!

It was all clearly too much for son Steve’s (Simon Gregson) brain to process, as he snapped the TV off sharpish when he walked in to the back room of the Rovers Return and found his mum having an indulgent lunchtime.
Just be careful no one lets slip on the cobbles that Maureen Webster is not in fact living in Germany, but is serving out her final few days as a Loose Woman under the name Sherrie Hewson…
