It was an emotional evening in the Aviva Stadium last night, as Republic of Ireland fans gathered to say farewell to green jersey stalwart Robbie Keane.
After 18 years and an incredible 68 goals the cartwheeling Dublin striker said a final farewell to the green army.
But being a loyal and affectionate bunch, the crowd also took a minute to acknowledge another Irish icon in the stadium.
A huge cheer at the Aviva for another Irish legend, @Paulmcgrath5! #ThanksRobbie https://t.co/1yOmblJ2bC

Legendary defender Paul McGrath was in attendance and when he was shown on the big screen during the second half he got a rousing cheer.
McGrath was initially baffled by the applause but when he realised it was meant for him, he acknowledged the crowd with a modest wave.
Only one chant would do in the circumstances: “Ooh ah, Paul McGrath, say ooh ah Paul McGrath!”
Lovely stuff.
As we waved goodbye to one legend last night, how great was it to see another. Beautiful moment @Paulmcgrath5 https://t.co/bXhMnHdh0w

@eirSport @berkieahern @Paulmcgrath5 The surprise on Paul MC Grath's face at the applause for him, shows what a humble and great man he is.

Paul McGrath shown on the big screen, looking around. Left open-mouthed when the crowd starts cheering and he realises it's about him.
