Human remains, believed to be those of a man believed to have died violently, have been found in woods in County Kildare.
Gardaí were called to the scene after the discovery was made in Rahin Woods yesterday evening.
The remains have been taken to Naas General Hospital where a post mortem is being carried out by the State Pathologist. The scene has been preserved for technical examination.
It is being reported that the man’s body could have been in there for less than a month, and Gardaí think the man was from Dublin, in his 20s and died violently.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in Rahin Woods during the month of August and who may have noticed anything suspicious to contact Leixlip Garda station.
