Deirde O’Kane has admitted that being a full-time mum isn’t for her.
The Moone Boy star admitted that her days of “full-time mummying” are behind her, as she was announced in TV3’s Autumn schedule as the new voice of Gogglebox Ireland with Rory Cowan.
The mother-of-two told the Sunday Independent how she spent a year at home minding the kids, which she found “very challenging”.
“It is not easy. I admire immensely people who do it very well because I don’t think I did it very well. I tried but I don’t think I was good at it,” she said.

The actress also opened up about the “guilt” of leaving your children when you’re trying to work on your career – but it’s all about finding the right balance.
“There’s the eternal pull and the guilt of wanting to spend all your hours with them, and the desire to work and be an adult in the real world and not always be doing the kids thing.
“If you can work three or four days a week, in my book, that’s the answer. That’s as good a balance as you can get. It’s probably what a lot of people crave – but it’s not always easy to make that work,” she added.
