Sir Matt Busby’s legacy at Manchester United is beyond question.
Sir Matt won five First Division titles, two FA Cups and the club’s first ever European Cup in a 24-year spell with United. He also survived the Munich air crash of 1958, in which many of his finest talents were tragically killed.
So it comes as no surprise that fans were bewildered by the club’s decision to remove his plaque from the directors’ box at Old Trafford. His grandchildren have reportedly also been told the seats there are no longer for their use.

Some wryly noted that the club has come to value different things since Sir Matt’s time as manager.

Others suggested new ways to commemorate the great man’s achievements.

But is there anything wrong with the move? To some it seems that the plaque is the only sticking point, with some of Sir Matt’s family still receiving season tickets.
