We don’t know if this was a deliberate tribute to Robbie Keane but it was certainly reminiscent of the newly-retired Irish footballer.

Paul Rooney was playing in goals for Melvin Gaels when they took on Gortletteragh yesterday but went up the field at one point to take a 45.

When he slotted it neatly over the bar, he celebrated by turning a quick cartwheel on his way back down the pitch.

It was nicely done in what looked to be a very boggy field and got a great reaction from the sideline.

To make it even sweeter, Melvin Gaels went on to win the match comfortably – final score 3-15 to 0-02.
