Shayne Ward has revealed that he is planning to return to music.

The star won The X Factor in 2005 but failed to make a big splash and was dropped by his label.

He now plays Aidan Connor on Coronation Street but admitted he still hankers after music.

Speaking at the TV Choice Awards, Shayne said: “Cath Tyldesley is going to be releasing an album soon and I had the good fortune of listening to some of it yesterday and she sounds amazing.

“So knowing that she’s releasing an album, I’ve been thinking about it and dipping my foot in the water next year and just doing maybe an EP or something.”

He went on: “For me, when I first joined Corrie I thought it was either one or the other.

“But without a shadow of a doubt I’m missing doing the music too so I will release something next year, hopefully.”
